The Preliminary Design Review (PDR) of the CARIOQA-PMP Engineering Model (EM) instrument took place in September/October 2023 at the end of the specification and preliminary definition phases of the EM instrument. The review began with a presentation on 12/09 in Toulouse to a review group made up of members of the two space agencies (CNES, DLR) and experts from the European Commission. The preliminary definition of the various EM subsystems was presented and it was demonstrated that this definition met the specifications.
The questions raised by the review group were answered by the project team. Based on these elements, the review group made eight recommendations which were accepted by the PDR Steering Committee. They will be taken into account for the next phase of the project.
The PDR has shown that the project has reached a significant stage and the review group encourages the project team for the next phases !
